Scorecard

Yorkshire ended their Championship season with a six wicket defeat against Nottinghamshire.

Matthew Waite and Tom Loten had extended their overnight partnership to 84 when Matthew was caught at first slip for 33 from 105 balls with 4 fours. Tom was 49 not out and duly completed his half century from 87 balls with 7 fours and a six. He went on to make 74 from 107 balls and was the sixth wicket to fall with the score at 217.

At this stage we had only been playing for 48 minutes but we extended the innings until the stroke of lunch with Ed Barnes being last man out for 12 – we totalled 253 and this left our hosts needing 33 to win.

That we made them work for it was at least to our credit – James Wainman struck three times and Josh Shaw once before the game ended at 2.08 pm.

Yorks 6 points Notts 24
