Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Yorkshire suffered a second defeat in this years competition, losing by 90 runs to bottom of the table Leicestershire. Winning the toss skipper, Josh Poysden, asked Leicestershire to bat first.

Swindells and Butchart added 42 for the first wicket before the latter was caught, low down, at mid on by Matthew Taylor from Dominic Leech’s bowling. Swindells and Dexter added 80 runs from 104 balls before Swindells was caught behind to give Matthew Taylor a wicket and after 30 overs, they were 122-2.

Dexter and Ali advanced the total by 60 when Ali was well caught at long on by Matthew Fisher off Jordan Thompson. 182-2 became 194-5 but the final five overs brought 41 runs and they closed on 235 all out with two balls left.

Will Fraine hit the first ball for 4 and added a two next ball but was caught at first slip third ball. Ben Birkhead was bowled for six and Matthew Revis scored eight from five balls but was also bowled to leave us 27-3 from five overs. Jordan Thompson was caught at second slip for 15 and Matthew Fisher caught at extra cover. When Arjun Ramkumar was bowled we were reduced to 69-6 but with 35 overs left.

Ed Barnes and Matthew Taylor added 54 in 73 balls when Matthew was run out for 15. Ed top scored with 37 from 44 but wickets continued to fall and we were all out for 145 in the 33rd over.
