Toss

Yorkshire have won the toss and elected to bat first.

Report

On a lovely sunny morning Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat first – a decision that somewhat backfired by lunch as they were all out for 72.

Things, initially, looked different as although losing Will Fraine (for 14) with the score at 15, we recovered to 48-1 when in the 16th over we lost our second wicket, Bilal Anjam for 29. This led to our last nine wickets falling for 24 runs. Debutant, trialist Oliver Batchelor made 12 from 41 balls. No one else reached double figures.

Evans and Swindells added 45 for the first wicket before Eddie Barnes took the first of his three wickets bowling the latter. Neil Dexter was lbw for two. Ali joined Evans and they added 59 when Ali was bowled for 23.

Prior to this Evans, reached his 50 from 112 balls and shortly before the close of play he had his hundred from 202 balls with 9 fours. He had added an unbroken 101 with Parkinson who himself was 59 not out, 50 coming from 67 balls with 9 fours.
Leicestershire currently lead by 143 with early wickets required tomorrow to enable us to get back in to the game.
