Report
Day two began under cloudy skies and trailing by 167 runs.
Unfortunately that was about as good as both the cricket and the weather got. Not out overnight George Hill made 31 from 68 balls and was the sixth wicket to fall. Jack Leaning was unlucky to get an inside edge that dislodged the bails and he went for 24.
However in the first hour there were only 15 scoring shots as 39-2 became 81-5 and it was only some lusty blows from Jordan Thompson that enabled us to reach 133 all out.
Three overs were possible before lunch and thanks to a brilliant one-handed catch at slip by Jared Warner Lancashire were 9-1. We had a 10 minute interruption for rain prior to lunch and play was delayed post lunch by a further 35 minutes. An added problem that the wet weather brought was for us scorers, as there is no “actual” score box to sit in we were at a table on the balcony, and it was either us or our laptops/paperwork etc that got wet!!!
Play resumed at 2.30pm and first innings half centurion Danny Lamb was caught at 2nd slip off Matthew Waite 45-2. However at 4.14pm bad light caused a halt with Lancashire 73-2, a lead of 146. Tea was taken but a torrential downpour saw play abandoned for the day.
