Scorecard

After watching the rain fall at Bristol for four days, it came as a nice surprise to start this three-day friendly on time – even though conditions were cool and overcast.

Skipper, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, won the toss and invited Lancashire to bat first. Ben Coad and Jared Warner bowled a tight opening spell of six overs limiting Lancashire to four without loss. They had taken their total to 12 when Coad had Karl Brown caught at second slip by Kohler-Cadmore.

Matthew Waite replaced Warner beating the bat on many occasions but without finding the edge. The second wicket partnership extended to 84 unbeaten when at 1.07pm play was halted due to rain and lunch taken.

Further inspections took place before play was abandoned for the day at 4.15pm. Lancashire’s unbeaten batsmen are Jones 40 from 88 balls (6×4; 1×6) and Lamb 47 from 68 balls (8×4).
