Report
Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat. A disastrous start saw us 8 for 3 with Tattersall, Thompson and Kohler-Cadmore all back in the changing room. A slight recovery saw Matthew Fisher and Andrew Hodd add 26 in 40 balls before Matthew was bowled for 16.
Hodd had reached 18 from 42 balls when he was caught at mid on – the score 59 for 5. Skipper, Azeem Rafiq had only just made his way to the middle when Adil Rashid became wicket number six, caught at first slip for 15 from 21 balls.
Rafiq and Wainman shared a partnership of 46 in 61 balls before the latter was caught at mid off for 13 from 30 balls. When Karl Carver was bowled first ball it left us 109-8 in the 29th over.
Rafiq and Ed Barnes added 78 in 95 balls before Azeem was caught at mid on – however he had been the bedrock of the innings making 60 from 71 balls with 7 fours. Ed Barnes went on to add a further 29 with Jared Warner for the last wicket and we closed 206-9, the last 2 wickets adding 97 in 130 balls.
A crowd of over 200 then watched Yorkshire complete a remarkable victory by 155 runs as Lancashire were dismissed for 51 in only 20.3 overs. There were two wickets each for all five bowlers used – Wainman, Warner, Barnes, Rashid and Thompson.
I am informed that this is their lowest total and our biggest winning margin in Roses Trophy games.
