Scorecard

By John Virr – 2nd XI Scorer

In this scenic setting watched by another large crowd Yorkshire concluded their Group games but slipped to their second defeat to Derbyshire, who by winning may have reached finals day themselves.

Yorkshire won the toss and batted. Will Fraine and Harry Duke concluded our powerplay at 58 without loss and extended their partnership to 78 when Fraine was bowled with the first ball of the ninth over – he had made 47 from 29 balls with 7 fours and a six. Duke was caught at deep mid-wicket for 32 from 23 deliveries. Jonny Tattersall fell in the same manner for 9 followed by Yash Vagadia bowled for two and we were 106-4 in the 13th over.

Will Luxton and Noah Kelly attempted to rebuild adding 32 in 28 balls but 24 balls were bowled without reaching the boundary rope. Kelly was caught at mid off for 23 from 17 balls and Luxton 42 from 33 balls as we closed on 169-7. This appeared 20 or so short after the start that was given.

In reply the home side reached 70 from their powerplay their only loss being skipper, Came caught behind for 17. Thomson made 49 from 31 (6×4;2×6) before he was caught at long off by Fraine off Josh Hoyle. Lamb was bowled by Ben Cliff for 4 but Anuj Dal finished unbeaten on 68 from 40 deliveries as they reached their target with 11 balls to spare.

Yorkshire will be joined by Glamorgan but the other 2 semi finalists will only be known after tomorrows final group games.

Finals day is at Wormsley on Thursday 15th June.
