Tony Pickersgill (Development Coach)


Played for Leeds City Boys at the age of 14/15 and also for Yorkshire Schools U15s (there was only 1 Yorkshire Schools side at the time).

Had a long and distinguished career in League cricket. Played 1st team Bradford League cricket at the age of 15. Started his League cricket at Great Horton CC before transferring to East Bierley CC where he played for many years and won all the major League trophies. Won the indoor and outdoor competitions at Lords.

Captained Royton CC in the Lancashire League.

Captained Gomersal CC in the Central Yorkshire League for 7 years, winning all 3 major League trophies on more than one occasion.

Captained Green Lane CC in the Airedale/Wharfedale League.

Throughout his League cricket career he took well in excess of 1000 wickets and won League Bowling averages on several occasions.

Played for Yorkshire Over 50s for several years.

After taking early retirement following nearly 30 years in the finance industry he decided to pursue his love for cricket by obtaining his coaching qualifications.

He has been the Manager/Coach for the Yorkshire U14s ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams for over 10 years.

He is the Director of the Centre of Excellence Pathways Gold 2 and also coaches on Pathways Gold 1 and Pathways Silver.

He considers himself very fortunate to work at Headingley coaching Yorkshire age group players and the Academy players.

He specialises in fast bowling and video analysis.

He also works on correcting bowlers throughout the County that have unusual actions.
