Tony Pickersgill (Development Coach)

Pickersgill played for Leeds City Boys and Yorkshire Schools Under 15s and had a fruitful career in league cricket.

He is currently a development coach at Headingley, with a focus on bowling, video analysis and working with young bowlers throughout the county who have unusual actions.

Having taken early retirement after 30 years in the finance industry, Pickersgill obtained his coaching qualifications and has been the coach of the Yorkshire Under 14s A and B teams for more than 10 years.

He took more than 1,000 wickets during a career which saw him play for clubs across both sides of the Pennines, including Great Horton, East Bierley, Royton, Gomersal and Green Lane.

He started his league career playing first-team cricket in the Bradford League aged 15 and went on to win a number of trophies, including many as captain.

Pickersgill also played for Yorkshire’s Over 50s side.
