Yorkshire have signed up six players to the 2021 Academy. Here, head coach Richard Damms talks us through each player’s role, ability, aims and potential.
“Harry is a slow left-arm spinner and the younger brother of Josh.
“He’s played age-group cricket all the way through and has a happy knack of taking wickets. He’s also got really good control.
“Sully bowls best when he competes, and he’s working on all aspects of his game – his batting and his fielding. He’s had a strong winter.
“He will be his best selector. He needs to take wickets in whatever teams he plays for to push for higher honours.
“He’s played a bit of second-team cricket, but we want to see more of him at that level.
“Hopefully he can progress to join his brother in the professional ranks.
“It’s the same with all the lads really. He will be looking to play as much second-team cricket this summer to earn himself a rookie contract. That’s the next stage for the older Academy lads – Sully and someone like Will Luxton.”
