Game one

Yorkshire won by 37 runs

Game two

Game one was played in oppressive conditions with Yorkshire batting first. As per the previous day Will Fraine and Ben Birkhead got us off to a flying start scoring 67 in the powerplay and taking the total to 73 before Ben was caught for 34 from 22 balls. Will reached his 50 from 30 balls and was caught at deep square leg for 57 from 36 balls with 9 fours.

Jack Leaning made 29 from 24 balls but no one else reached double figures as we totalled 154-5 in our allotted overs.

Matthew Waite removed Fluck in the first over of the Lancashire reply and Shah was run out for 17 to reduce them to 18-2. Lavelle made 21 and Perry 40 but wickets fell regularly, and they finished 117-9 as Yorkshire won by 37 runs.

There was a shower between games that delayed the start of the second game for 10 minutes. Lancashire were batting and had reached 63-2 from 7.3 overs when thunder/lightning and heavy rain brought a halt to proceedings. Ed Barnes had taken both wickets.

Despite several inspections play was abandoned at 5.20pm.

Next action: 2 T20 games on Monday 29.7.19 followed by our final three-day Championship game Tuesday to Thursday 30.7.19 to 1.8.19 – both games are at Desborough against Northamptonshire.
