Discussions ensued before the start of play – the conclusion was that Yorkshire had declared overnight (427-8) and that Worcestershire and Yorkshire had forfeited their innings, leaving Worcestershire 428 to win in 96 overs.

It was the 15th over before the breakthrough came, courtesy of Ed Barnes who had Westbury lbw for 20 with the total at 32.
Lunch arrived without further wickets falling, Worcestershire reaching 106-1 – Rhodes unbeaten on 30 from 95 balls and Fell 51 not out from 50 balls, their partnership was worth 74 from 100 balls.

After lunch, the pair extended their partnership to 110 from 162 balls before Rhodes was taken at slip by Jared Warner from the bowling of James Wainman. As often happens in a big partnership, one brings two and four overs later, Fell was comprehensively bowled by Josh Shaw, the score now 150-3. The fourth wicket fell at 174 with Milton caught behind by Ben Birkhead for 14, again off Shaw.

Dell and Haynes batted through until tea, 201-4 and shortly after this became 207-5 when Dell was bowled by Karl Carver. This brought ex-Tyke, Ryan Gibson to the crease and although he lost Haynes caught and bowled by Carver for 50, he remained unbeaten on 37 from 66 balls when play was called off – Worcestershire were 271-6.
