Yorkshire won the toss and opted to bowl.

In a tight finish Yorkshire were beaten by 12 runs in their penultimate Trophy game.

Winning the toss, Yorkshire elected to bowl first. Warwickshire opener Banks was dismissed in the first over caught behind to give Matthew Fisher the first of his four wickets. Umeed joined Sibley and they added 54 for the second wicket in 45 balls before the former was caught down the leg side off Ed Barnes.

This brought former Yorkshire player, Will Rhodes to the crease – when he departed (as the last wicket to fall) Warwickshire had posted 287 and the left-hander had made 107 from 91 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes.

This total had seemed unlikely when Warwickshire were reduced to 191-8 in the 33rd over – Sibley made 51 from 52 balls but wickets fell regularly, however the last 2 wickets produced record partnerships (66 for the ninth and 30 for the last).

Matthew Fisher finished with 4-42 from his 10 and there was a wicket each for Shaw, Barnes, Warner, Thompson and Carver – the other being a run out.

Skipper, Alex Lees and Jonny Tattersall opened our reply and added 71 from 77 balls before Jonny was caught at mid on for 35 from 45 balls. Jordan Thompson and Lees took the total to 104 before the latter was stumped for 45 from 59, the total 104-2. This soon became 112-3 when Tom Loten was bowled by Poysden for one.

Jordan was joined by Matthew Fisher adding 60 for the fourth wicket in 64 balls. Fisher was caught at deep mid-wicket for 35 from 29 balls with 4 fours and a six. Shortly after Jordan reached his 50 from 60 balls with 6 fours but he became wicket number five when he too was caught at deep mid wicket for 67 from 83 balls.

This left Yorkshire 215-5 in the 42nd over. George Hill made 28 from 33 balls but was caught at long on and despite best efforts Yorkshire finished on 275-9.
