Yorkshire 2nd XI won the toss and opted to bowl first.

On a cool, cloudy, blustery day many of the Yorkshire faithful made their way to watch us build on the previous days victory with a comprehensive 8 wicket win.

Winning the toss we asked Derbyshire to have first use. Their innings lasted only 22.4 overs as they were dismissed for 67 (their lowest total against us). When opener, Kettleborough was fifth out with the score at 30 he had made 20 of them. The second top scorer was extras (19) and only Palumbo reached double figures.

Jordan Thompson returned figures of 6-1-17-4, Wainman 5-2-10-3 and there was a wicket each for Ben Coad and Jared Warner – the other wicket to fall was a run out.

Our reply didn’t get off to the best of starts as we were reduced to 3-2 (Kohler-Cadmore and Lees being dismissed). However Harry Brook (36 not out from 25 balls; 6×4 1×6) and Jack Leaning (27 not out from 30 balls; 6×4) shared 65 unbeaten as we reached our target from 10.2 overs.
