Resuming at 48-1, Yorkshire added 76 from 17 overs before Jonny Tattersall was lbw to Bilal Baig for 25. His partnership with Tom Kohler-Cadmore had lasted 164 balls adding 113 runs. Tom had, during this partnership, reached his 50 from 70 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes however he was caught at cover for 88 from 105 balls (10×4; 3×6) with the score was 169-3.
Ben Birkhead joined Matthew Waite and they were unbeaten at lunch with the score 184-3; Ben 7* and Matthew 21*. After lunch they to the score to 249 before Ben was caught for 36 from 90 balls. Matthew Waite reached his 50 from 89 balls with 2 fours and a six and went on to make 64 from 113 balls before he was the fifth wicket to fall with the score at 271.
Karl Carver joined Azeem Rafiq and with the score at 310-5 and tea looming Yorkshire declared leaving Durham with a lead of 54. Karl finished 13* and Azeem 31*. Shortly before this keeper, Eitan Litvin, had to leave the field due to a dislocated finger.
Matthew Waite struck in the fourth over having Steel caught at point by Jonny Tattersall for 8, Durham 16-1. In the 10th over Matthew struck again removing Gareth Harte for 1 caught by Harry Brook at 4th slip leaving our visitors 22-2.
Jack Burnham joined Liam Trevaskis adding 33 for the 3rd wicket. Burnham made 19 from 32 including a massive 6 over our score box before he was lbw to Karl Carver. Jared Warner joined the attack and bowled 5 overs of serious pace dismissing McBride, caught behind, for 5.
At the close of play Durham had reached 95-4, a lead of 149. Opener, Trevaskis unbeaten on 40 from 103 balls with 4 fours and Poynter 15*.
