Resuming at 203-4, Surrey reached lunch with the loss of 4 further wickets.

During the morning session we bowled 33.1 overs and only 71 runs were added.

Batchelor was bowled by Matthew Fisher for 21, Jafri lbw to Matthew Waite for 9 and Brookes stumped by Jonny Read from Karl Carver’s bowling for 10.

But the big wicket fell just before lunch when Borthwick was caught at slip to give Matthew Fisher his 2nd wicket. Borthwick made 159 from 235 balls including 20 fours.

11. 4 overs were required after lunch to take the last 2 wickets as Surrey were dismissed for 288 at 2.11pm.

57 overs remained in the day and we made the worst possible start when Harry Brook was bowled 1st ball and Bilal Anjam followed 2 balls later. Matthew Waite joined Jonny Tattersall and they added 44 in 73 balls before Matthew was caught at 2nd slip for 23 from 35 with 3 fours.

Tea was reached at 73-3 with Tattersall 24 no from 72 balls and Matthew Fisher unbeaten on 11 from 43 balls, however he was dismissed 1st ball after tea quickly followed by Eliot Callis for 1.

Carver joined Tattersall and they added 57 in 115 balls before Karl was caught behind for 22 from 51 balls and we found ourselves 134-6.

Before the close Jordan Thompson fell for 11 but Tattersall reached his 50 from 121 balls with 5 fours and at close he was unbeaten on 76 from 172 balls with 8 fours and we closed 164-7, trailing by 124.
