The very pleasant setting of Wimbledon with the famous Centre Court just across the road is the venue for this 3 day friendly.
Yorkshire won the toss and elected to field. James Wainman struck 3 times in the first hour to leave Surrey at 34-3.
Welch was caught at slip for 3, Harinath bowled for 11 and Jacks lbw for 4. However Scott Borthwick, who came in at the fall of the first wicket, found an ally in Woods and they added 89 for the 4th wicket in 126 balls before the latter was caught at 2nd slip for 43 from 61 balls with 6 fours.
Woods departed shortly after lunch but Borthwick continued – he reached 50 from 94 balls including 4 fours and needed only 43 more deliveries to get to 100 (12 fours). A heavy downpour forced the players off the field at 2.45 pm with Surrey 203-4.
Several inspections took place but unfortunately no further play was possible
