Day Two saw the bat dominate the ball – a total of 437 runs were scored for the loss of 7 wickets. Alex Lees and Liam Plunkett continued their partnership taking it to 131 before Liam was caught at long off for 58 from 73 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

This dismissal brought about our declaration at 390-6, Alex Lees left undefeated on 145 from 191 balls with 26 fours and 3 sixes.
Eighteen overs were bowled before lunch with Ben Coad taking our only wicket and Derbyshire reaching 53. Post lunch saw Kettleborough and Brodrick take their partnership to 113 from 151 balls before the latter was caught by Leaning at 2nd slip to give Ryan Sidebottom the 1st of 2 quick wickets – he also dismissed Wood lbw to leave Derbyshire 148-3.

Kettleborough reached his 50 from 87 balls with 10 fours and went on to post his ton from 132 balls with 19 fours. He added 51 with Priestley and at tea they were 245-4 from 58 overs. After the break he and Morgan took their stand to 70 before Morgan was dismissed lbw by Azeem Rafiq. At this point Kettleborough was 146 no from 199 balls and took his individual score to 180 from 261 balls with 30 fours before he was well caught by Andrew Hodd from the last ball of the day to leave Derbyshire 54 behind with 4 wickets remaining.
