Report: Durham 2nd XI v Yorkshire 2nd XI

— 15 August 2017

This one-day friendly started on time despite heavy earlier rain. Skipper, Will Rhodes won the toss and asked Durham to bat first.

Matthew Fisher struck 3 times to reduce them to 15-3 and wickets fell regularly as Durham struggled to 85-7. However Jack Burnham offered resistance and with Harry Podmore added 69 for the 8th wicket in 76 balls. Burnham went on to make 80 from 91 balls with 12 fours as Durham were 179 all out.

Bilal Anjam and Jonny Tattersall added 75 for the 1st wicket before Bilal departed for 40 from 50 balls with 6 fours. Will Rhodes 27 from 33 balls (4 fours) and Matthew Waite 36 from 35 balls (3 fours and 2 sixes) helped guide us to our target but both fell and it was left to Tattersall 69 no from 103 balls with 7 fours to see us home by 7 wickets with 12.3 overs to spare.

A three day Championship game starts tomorrow at the same venue with several changes expected.
