Report: YORKSHIRE U17s v Lancashire U17's

The Yorkshire U17 finished with a second defeat in the group as Lancashire won by four wickets at Widnes CC today (Sunday).


Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat and George Hill (104*), Alec Drury (33) and Dominic Leech (30*) posted a final total of 219/6.

George Hill`s innings came from 126 deliveries with seven boundaries and was the glue that held the innings together. He gave no chance at all and thoroughly deserved the applause that greeted his achievement.

Lancashire were never really troubled in their pursuit of 220 to win and 59 by Jamie Crawley and an unbeaten 86 by skipper George Lavelle saw them home with 4.2 overs left.

For Yorkshire, Billy Whitford took 2/25 and Harrison Quarmby 2/38.

The 3-day championship will begin later in the season.
