Report: MCC Young Cricketers v Yorkshire 2nd XI (Day 2)

Resuming at 3-0 we lost Tattersall lbw for 6 and Callis for 21 whilst progressing to 48. Ben Ainsley followed soon after and we were 53-3. However, at lunch, we had progressed to 150-3 through Will Rhodes unbeaten on 62 from 63 balls (12 fours) and Ryan Gibson 28 no from 32 balls with 5 fours.

Will completed his century from only 92 balls including 20 fours and Ryan his 50 from 75 balls with 11 fours. They added 196 from only 194 balls before Ryan was caught low at cover for 71 from 97 balls (12 fours).

Andrew Hodd then made a quickfire 93 from only 63 balls with 17 fours and a six. Will made 147 from 148 balls with 24 fours and a six and at tea we were 396-7, a lead of 34.

Josh Shaw then made his maiden century from only 86 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes and we declared at 526-8.

7 overs were possible before bad light halted play for the day during which MCC YC closed at 32 without loss.

A highly entertaining day with 555 runs scored in 97 overs.
