Fielding an experienced line up Yorkshire eased to a 111 run victory with just over 10 overs to spare.
Winning the toss we elected to bat. Adam Lyth made 4 before he was caught at slip. His opening partner, Jonny Bairstow, compiled a 50 from 28 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes before he was caught at mid off for 60 from 37..
Matthew Waite made 51 from 63 with 8 fours but the major partnership was between David Willey and Azeem Rafiq – they added 87 for the 8th wicket in only 64 balls before David was spectacularly caught at long on by Wood backing up Critchley who, initially looked as though he had carried it over the boundary for 6 only to throw it back in and Wood take the catch.
Azeem made 42 and we closed on 295 10 balls short of our full allocation.
Fisher and Willey struck early, reducing Derbyshire to 25-3 but Critchley joined opener, Macdonnell and they added 72 in 80 balls before the latter was dismissed for 48. Derby progressed to 111-4 before Karl Carver had a triple wicket maiden.
There were some lusty blows late on from Gleadall (23 from 32 with 4×4; 1×6) and Greg Cork 37 from 42 but Derby were dismissed for 184. Carver 3-17 and Willey 3-34 were the main wicket takers.
