AB de Villiers is set to star for South Africa at Headingley next month having been declared fit to captain the side in their Royal London ODI Series and Champions Trophy.

De Villiers, 33, missed two games for IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore because of a back injury, fuelling fears that he might not be fully fit in time.

The squad will play three ODIs against England starting with the first match at Headingley in Leeds on May 24th, before their first group match of the ICC Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka at the Oval on June 3.

Dale Steyn is yet to recover from breaking a bone in his right shoulder against Australia in November, while Vernon Philander misses out after picking up a groin injury playing for Sussex in the Specsavers County Championship.

There is a place for Morne Morkel, who has not been involved in ODI cricket for 10 months, while left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj is included for the first time.
