The mornings play almost mirrored the first day with a wicket falling in the 1st over, captain Roderick being well taken at slip by Leaning off the bowling of Matthew Fisher. However that was our only success until 12.25 when Gilmour was bowled by Azeem Rafiq for 45 from 68 balls with 7×4; 1×6 having added 97 for the 2nd wicket with Cockbain. At lunch Cockbain was unbeaten on 65 from 114 balls with 11×4 and 1×6 as Gloucestershire were 117-2.
Cockbain was caught behind from Waites bowling shortly after lunch for 75 from 129 balls with 12 fours and a six.
Howell and Hankins then added 136 in 156 balls before the former was well taken at slip by Jonny Tattersall in Karl Carvers 3rd over. Hankins followed 5 minutes later bowled by Azeem Rafiq. Hankins made 1 from his first 45 balls but then went on to record his century from 133 balls and he fell for 124 from 144 balls with 18 fours and 5 sixes. Tea was taken with our visitors 275-5, during the interval a declaration was made leaving Yorkshire 57 in front.
Callis and Tattersall added 23 before Jonny was caught behind for 6. 10 runs later Will Rhodes was run out with a direct hit from mid wicket. Callis and Leaning took the score to 57 before Jack was caught at 3rd slip for 22.
Bad light stopped play at 6.36 with Yorkshire with 67-3.
