Play resumed on time despite some earlier rain but temperatures were more akin to autumn.
Rhodes and Brook took their overnight partnership to 83 from 190 balls before Brook was caught at short leg for 22 from 89 balls with three fours. During this partnership, Will Rhodes completed his 50 from 95 balls with 9 fours and he was 4th out for 65 from 125 balls.
We reached lunch at 144-5 with Matthew Waite and Jordan Thompson unbeaten.
Jordan took 12 from the first over after lunch but was also dismissed lbw for 40 from 35 balls. Josh Shaw was dismissed in similar fashion as we reached 210-7. However Matthew Waite was patiently carrying on and with the last ball before tea reached 50 from 157 balls with 6 fours. Also unbeaten on 19 was Matthew Fisher and at tea we were 253-7.
Matthew Waite was dismissed shortly after tea for 59. James Wainman joined Fisher and they added 37. Fisher was caught and bowled for 33 and we declared at 303-9 leaving 15 overs to be bowled.
Fisher struck with the first ball, bowling Hose. The opener, Byrom, remained unbeaten on 27 at the close but Josh Shaw had struck to remove 1st innings centurion Rouse for 15 and Somerset closed on 64-2, a lead of 149.
