Nottinghamshire won the toss and duly invited Yorkshire to bat first on a damp track after torrential overnight rain.
A disastrous start saw both openers dismissed in the first over with just six runs on the board. But Aaron Finch and Harry Brook then produced the best stand of the innings (54 from 90 deliveries in just over one hour)
However, after that, it was a procession after that as Yorkshire were dismissed for just 106 in 43.5 overs. Aaron Finch made 60 (98 deliveries with 3 fours and one maximum) but when he was dismissed shortly after lunch, the end came quickly.
Matthew Waite (13) was the only other player to reach double figures.
When Nottinghamshire batted, Greg Smith (51*) and Jake Libby (12*) took their side to 65/0 in 14.3 overs without any concerns when the rains came and play was abandoned for the day.
