Yorkshire struggle to defend their first innings score whilst Sussex make light work of batting.
On the back of yesterday’s great recover after lunch, Firn (75) and Ashraf struggle to continue their quest for runs and the side were quickly reduced to 286 all out with Whittingham claiming both successes.
An early wicket by Wainman put Sussex on the back foot however the white rose side struggled to follow the success with another. Sussex captain and opening batsmen C Jackson accompanied by Finch put on an incredible 139 run partnership to take the score to 166 when Finch was dismissed by Thompson.
With the fielding side reeling from their recent success, two more wickets quickly fell taking Jackson for 105. Hudson-Prentice and Salt, who likes one-day cricket, played their part. The pair quickly took their home side to 254 for 4 at tea.
The Yorkshire players congregated at the tea interval and whatever was said had worked temporarily as Ashraf claimed another two wickets, one of which was Salt at 56 off 31 balls.
Cammish (58*) and Burgoyne (41*) again playing their part, took Sussex to 394 for 6 when close of play was called. With a seventh-wicket partnership currently at 96 a long task was ahead for Yorkshire.
