The game between the top two members of the group took place at the Grange, home of Ticknall CC on Tuesday in what was to all intents and purposes a quarter-final in the 2015 competition.
The game was a run fest from start to finish, with 605 runs being scored for the loss of just eight wickets.
Yorkshire were inserted and James Brown and Danish Husain promptly added 169 for the first wicket but both departed, almost together and the momentum was lost.
Mohammed Rafique (30 not out) and 29 from Harry Brook tried to restore balance and a final total of 300/5 looked impressive but, given the short boundaries, another 50 runs would not have come amiss.
Derbyshire lost an early wicket but then a second wicket stand of 229 between Eddie Barlow (142) and Ryan Bramwell (110*) secured the victory for the home side and a place in the Semi-Finals against Nottinghamshire.
Matthew Taylor, James Logan and Mohammed Rafique each took one wicket.
