Rain curtails Yorkshire's chances

— 1 August 2015

This week saw the Yorkshire Academy home to Sheffield United. With the wind blowing and the fifty percent chance of seeing some of Yorkshire’s finest rain, Sheffield united put the academy into bat.

Yorkshire under 17 player Mathew Taylor and captain Weekes put the home side on the back foot taking out the opening batsmen for less than 31. Youngster, Mathew Rees claimed the third victim at 63. Waite came into bat.

Less than a minute later, the rain came and play was postponed. Taking an early lunch at 3pm followed by a ground inspection pathed the way to the end of the match by mutual agreement.

The rain had spoilt the promising first day of August. Happy Yorkshire Day!
