U17: Yorkshire win by 143 runs against the Lancashire

— 16 July 2015

Yorkshire won the toss and decided to bat.

James Brown continued his good form of yesterday with 39 from 54 balls as we reached 99-3 upon his dismissal, taken well down the leg side by keeper Seward. However the bedrock of the innings was a superb knock from skipper, Yaasar Imtiaz.

He reached his 50 from 83 balls with 3 fours and went on to a complete a tremendous 100 from a further 32 balls. He finished unbeaten on 131 as we posted 280-7 from our 50 overs. In total he faced 132 balls hitting 13 fours and a six.

Houghton took 4-63 from his 10 overs for Lancashire.
Matthew Taylor struck twice early on and Lancashire never really recovered from 7-2. Kulkarni made 32 but the next highest scorer was extras with 20 (including 14 wides).

Lancashire were dismissed for 137 from 38.2 overs and there were 2 wickets each for Taylor (2-12), Logan (2-43), Hussain (2-5) and to cap a great day, personally, Imtiaz (2-35).
