2nd XI: Yorkshire defeat Derbyshire at Scarborough thanks to Maxwell

— 19 June 2015

Day 3 saw the replacement of Shaw with James Wainman coming on as first change and taking a much needed wicket terminating a partnership of 98 between Hosein (57) and Cork.

A few overs later, Cork was caught by keeper Hodd from spin bowler Carver reducing Derbyshire to 181 for 7. The rest of the travelling side were soon dismissed by the Yorkshire seam bowlers making a target of 197 to win.

An early exit from opener White put Yorkshire on the back foot however Alex Lees and Glenn Maxwell got the side going with an impressive 180-run partnership spanning just 27 overs put Yorkshire in the driving seat. The pair looked set to score the winning runs when Maxwell was bowled by Davis falling short of his 100 by 3 runs. Rhodes came to assist Lees in scoring the remainder of the runs. An outright win for the home side was a pleasing end to the week.
