Day 1 began with Yorkshire winning the toss and deciding to bat.
Liam Plunkett and Andrew Hodd were in the side and it was the latter who was the star of the morning session, reaching lunch 73 no from 83 balls with 11 fours and a maximum.

At lunch we were 107-2, the batters dismissed were Jonathan Tattersall for 12 and Dan Hodgson for 14.
Andrew was dropped at mid on when 90 but reached his hundred from 101 balls in 146 minutes and hit 16 fours and 2 sixes. He went on to post a superb 179 from 178 balls with 28 fours and 2 sixes.
Along the way he added 71 with Hodgson for the 2nd wicket, 60 for the 3rd with Pyrah and 119 with Plunkett from 121 balls for the 4th.
Liam Plunkett then reached his 100 from 129 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes but departed the very next ball. Shortly before tea Ryan Gibson plundered 34 from 21 balls including 6 fours and at the close Matthew Waite was unbeaten on 64 from 95 balls.
