At the lovely setting of Leicester Ivanhoe ground Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat and despite a late rally slipped to a 3 wicket defeat.
The mandatory first powerplay produced 30 runs for the loss of Ryan Gibson. Dan Hodgson soon followed for 7.
Skipper, Richard Pyrah, joined Johnny Tattersall and they added 29 in 46 balls before the latter was well caught for 42 from 54 balls including 7 fours.
Ben Ainsley joined his captain and 28 were added in 41 balls before Ben departed lbw for 10. Pyrah was then joined in a 5th wicket partnership of 55 by Matthew Waite before Richard was 5th out for 69 from 99 balls with 4 fours and a six.
Waite went on to make 44 from 61 balls with 3 fours but his innings enabled Jordan Thompson to play with freedom and he made a fluent 43no from only 28 balls with 2 fours and 2 maximums.
After our 50 overs we had posted 242-7. Taylor being the pick of the Leicestershire bowlers with 4-39 from his 10 overs.
50-2 after the first 10 overs had given Leicestershire a platform and Pardoe (62 from 68 balls with 6 fours and a six) and Ali 87 from 93 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes built on this to leave them at 201-3 with 12 overs remaining.
Karl Carver removed Ali and Tom Craddock struck 3 times (with 2 in an over) to reduce them to 204-6, however only 1 more wicket was taken as Leicestershire reached their target with 22 balls to spare
