Cleethorpes – 1 for 1 (1.1 overs)

Another sunny day saw the Academy away to Cleethorpes. The academy won the toss and decided to bat. Callis and Ainsley made a good start with a partnership of 54 before Ainsley (29) was bowled by Cleethorpes’ overseas player, Redmond (50 for 2).

Hussain came to join Callis and the pair worked their way through 6 bowlers before Callis (58) fell to Baker, leaving the score 129 for 2.

Another great partnership between Hussain (53) and Imtiaz saw the away side 170 for 3 when Hussain was run out by Cleethorpes youngest player, Keast.

Opening bowler Willerton and overseas Redmond returned reducing the side to 189 for 6.

Imtiaz and Carver were just making headway when the heavens opened.

After waiting for the rain for an hour, the Academy declared on 228 for 6 off 50 overs.

Cleethorpes, Kirby and Warwick took to the field with Kirby immediately returning after falling to Waite (1 for 1).

As soon as play began, play ended due to rain. After another half an hour wait, the sides shook hands – the game was abandoned.
