Bradford based charity One in a Million are delighted to announce an official community partnership with the The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. The partnership, which is the first of its kind for both parties will see One in a Million working closer with Yorkshire Cricket to benefit young people in the Bradford area.
One in a Million, a charity, which boasts Anthony McGrath as one of their ambassadors uses sports, arts and enterprise to engage children and young people primarily from disadvantaged backgrounds has begun to use cricket as part of their sporting offer. The partnership will build on the work that has already seen former Yorkshire coach Kevin Sharp deliver cricket to children in and after school and out in the community.
Wayne Jacobs, co- founder of One in a Million, said, “ We are obviously very flattered to be named as a partner of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and to have someone of Anthony’s stature help oversee and develop our work as part of the partnership is very exciting for us and for Bradford.”
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is itself a registered charity and community arm of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The foundation delivers community projects across the county. Using the power of sport and cricket in particular, the foundation aims to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of those living in Yorkshire.
Will Saville, Community Development Manager for The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, said:
“It’s fantastic that we are able to partner up with One in a Million. From the first time we met Wayne and saw the facilities at the school, we were hugely impressed with the set up. There are lots of opportunities for us to work together going forward and we as a foundation and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, are excited about future projects.”
