Yorkshire County Cricket Club are pleased to announce a brand new partnership with The Fisherman’s Wife at Bryan’s in Headingley.

  • The speciality fish and chip retailers have recently taken over the premises of what was formerly known as Bryan’s on Weetwood Lane, adding to several other outlets across the county.

The launch of the partnership was made official on Monday 7th April with the players, media, partners and staff invited by The Fisherman’s Wife to have a true Yorkshire fish and chip lunch following the Club’s annual media day.

  • “Fish and chips are synonymous with Yorkshire and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to partner with such a widely recognised brand now based right on our doorstep.” said Commercial Director Andy Dawson.

“The opportunities for The Fisherman’s Wife and ourselves to create a fulfilling partnership going forward are endless and we’re very grateful for all that they have offered us so far.”

The partnership will see Yorkshire’s Members offered 10% discount on presenting their Members Card at The Fisherman’s Wife’s Headingley branch, as well as a free £5 voucher in this season’s Members Guides.

  • General Manager of the family run business, Graham Reed-Stephenson said:

“Yorkshire County Cricket Club has such a great reputation and we know that this partnership will really work well for us now that we’ve opened in Headingley. We were thrilled to welcome the players and Yorkshire’s partners as well as the media to our restaurant on Monday, the new President (Dickie Bird) was a particularly big hit with our customers!”

The Fisherman’s Wife was founded by Jackson and May Reed-Stephenson in 1960, starting with their inaugural shop in Halton, Leeds. Shortly after that the business bloomed following a second outlet in Crossgates and then a third on George Street, Leeds, later named the busiest fish and chip shop in Yorkshire.

Now with outlets in Bishopthore, York Designer Outlets, Leeds, Whitby and Headingley the team are committed to serving speciality fish from sustainable sources and encouraging healthy eating, with their menu boasting a smorgasbord of fish favourites.
