Yorkshire County Cricket Club have launched a T20 season ticket offering sports fans across the county the opportunity to watch all seven NatWest T20 Blast home matches in the 2014 campaign for only £70, a saving of over 50 percent based on matchday prices, and only £20 for a junior under 16.
Billed as The Magnificent Seven, based on the famous 1960 Western movie, the Club’s marketing team have come up with a strong campaign showcasing seven of the Club’s high-profile players to promote the offer to a wider audience. Tickets went on sale over the weekend and already many fans have snapped them up as the ideal gift ahead of Christmas
“With the new NatWest T20 Blast season taking place from May to July, we felt there was a market for sports event-goers to be part of the action at Headingley,” said Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Head of Media & Marketing Danny Reuben.
“Five of our seven home matches will take place on a Friday night and we believe that Headingley will be the place to be to watch top class sport throughout the summer.
“We wanted to do something that captures the imagination of the public and have some fun with our players. The Magnificent Seven campaign is vibrant and gets across our messages in the most effective way. The offer of seven games for £70 is tremendous value and we can see this being very popular attracting new fans to the sport. One of the key benefits is that the ticket it is transferable, so you can pass it on to friends or family members. That will be a great selling point if you are unable to commit to every game.”
Yorkshire Vikings start their T20 campaign against last year’s champions the Northamptonshire Steelbacks on Friday May 16 2014. The eagerly anticipated ‘war of the roses’ match, when the Vikings take on Lancashire Lightning is on Friday June 27 with a second successive sell-out at Headingley guaranteed
“We will be working aggressively on our marketing and promotion of these matches to attract big crowds and create a carnival atmosphere for families and the perfect stage for the players to perform,” added Reuben, who is aiming to attract a five-figure average attendance during the 2014 T20 campaign.
