YCCSA Pre-Season Funding

— 14 February 2012

The Supporters’ Association have very kindly offered financial assistance to a number of the Club’s pre-season activities.

This winter a number of players are benefitting from the work of the YCCSA members (Chairman Chairman Evers pictured here with Azeem Rafiq, Iain Wardlaw and Gurman Randhawa). They have raised a total of £2000 in order to help facilitate 3 main areas of preparation for the 2012 season:

  • Sending Ajmal Shahzad to Dubai in order to work with the England bowling coaches.

  • Funding Moin Ashraf, Iain Wardlaw and Gurman Randhawa’s places on the the tour to Barbados.

  • Making money available to allow Azeem Rafiq to continue his work with former Yorkshire and England off-spinner Jack Birkenshaw.

We are extremely grateful to everyone at the YCCSA for their generosity. The fact that the many events they organise and run throughout the year can have such a marked influence on the team’s preparations is a great testament to them. Hopefully the Association’s hard work will provide us all with some excellent cricket to watch during the forthcoming season.
