Haris Rauf has heaped praise on Yorkshire star Harry Brook.

The pair have just finished locking horns in the international T20 series in Pakistan, which England won 4-3.

Brook scooped the Player of the Series award after contributing 238 runs, including an unbeaten 46 in yesterday’s decider.

Brook, the 23-year-old Burley-in-Wharfedale product, posted other scores of 42 not out, 31, 81 not out and 34, batting at number five.

He looks set to hold that position in the order when England start their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan in Perth on October 22.

Rauf, meanwhile, was Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the series with eight scalps. The 28-year-old dismissed Brook once in that haul.

The pair also played with each other earlier in the year, both for Yorkshire and in the Pakistan Super League for Lahore Qalandars. They won the latter competition.

“Harry will have a great future with England,” said Rauf.

“I have played with him now for Yorkshire and in the PSL for Lahore.

“He played some very good innings for the Qalandars earlier in the year and then started the season well for Yorkshire, with some big hundreds.

“He’s a terrific player with a great attitude who can get big runs for England now.

“In the future, I also see him as a cool-headed guy who could go on and be a captain of England.”
