Will MH Rhodes

A genuine all-rounder who impressed for Yorkshire’s first and second teams as well as the England under 19s in 2013. He signed junior professional terms at Headingley at the end of the summer.

He was a surprise selection at the start of the Yorkshire Bank 40 competition, but it quickly became evident why the county’s hierarchy rate him so highly. Former Second XI coach Paul Farbrace described him as “an outstanding all-rounder” and “a very talented cricketer”.

He played seven 40-over and two Twenty20 matches in 2013 before featuring heavily for the England under 19s later in the summer. In a youth one-day international against Pakistan in early August, he scored a century.

Not only is Jason Gillespie excited about his skill level, he is also delighted with the calm character and temperament displayed by the player.

2012 – Scored 39 against Lancashire in a one-day Trophy match on his Second XI debut in August.

2013 – Played four times for Yorkshire’s first XI whilst on pre-season tour of Barbados in March, scoring a composed 44 for an intra-squad friendly against an attack including England Test bowlers Ryan Sidebottom and Liam Plunkett. He was playing alongside such names in the county’s first team proper during the summer in limited overs cricket, showing glimpses of his talent. He debuted in a 40-over match against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay in early May. He took wickets and scored runs (102 against Pakistan at Sleaford was the standout innings) for the England under 19s before being selected in their squad for a busy winter programme. He signed junior professional terms with Yorkshire ahead of 2014.
