Developing cricketers across Yorkshire and beyond

— 14 August 2014

Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket Academy, the official coaching provider for YCCC and partner of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, is enjoying a glowing summer season with over 750 young cricketers benefiting their various coaching clinics & camps.

With a record number of winter students securing places in the Yorkshire age group teams, we would like to congratulate all juniors who have progressed onto represent Yorkshire.

Large number of cricketers also represented their league sides, districts and schools; the hard work has clearly paid off. Train Hard, Play Easy!

A highlight from 2014 thus far has been the evolution of the Junior Professional Programme. The JPP saw two talented squads compete against representative sides from across the county, and win! ‘The JPP pushes every young cricketer to their limit and brings the best out of each and every one of them’. The coaching ethos, style and structure descend directly from the professional game and from the Yorkshire Captain himself, Andrew Gale who is just one of the Yorkshire stars involved with Pro Coach.

The Junior Professional Programme trial for the 2015 squads will be held on 31st October, at Headingley.

This summer saw the number one T20 batsman in the world, Aaron Finch take time out of his busy schedule to deliver a batting master class run by Pro Coach. ‘The way Aaron approaches batting was hugely refreshing, a lot of juniors are scared to make a mistake, hearing the words, ‘it’s ok to make a mistake and get out’ from someone like Aaron allowed the juniors to play with freedom and explore their games. The night was a huge success; Aaron was the ultimate professional who truly inspired everyone, thanks Aaron.

  • Masterclass with Kane Williamson
