MATCH PREVIEW: Yorkshire Vikings v Sri Lanka A— 30 July 2014
Yorkshire’s 50-over friendly against Sri Lanka A tomorrow will provide a number of first-team hopefuls with the opportunity to impress the club’s hierarchy as they bid for more senior cricket.
The White Rose county take a break from competition cricket to take on the tourists, who are themselves warming up for a forthcoming triangular one-day series also involving New Zealand A and England Lions. Jonny Bairstow will play for the Lions in that series.
Although a number of regulars will be fielded, the likes of wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd and pace man Moin Ashraf will come into the team.
For Hodd, it is a warm-up for a run in the Royal London one-day Cup side whilst Bairstow is with the Lions.
Hodd will play four Group A fixtures, starting with next Tuesday’s trip to face Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
