Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire (Day Two): RAIN DELAY

— 9 June 2014

Yorkshire were frustrated by heavy rain on the second day of their championship match against Nottinghamshire at Headingley.

Resuming on 52 for two, still trailing Nottinghamshire by 153 runs, only 9.3 overs were possible during the morning session with Yorkshire reaching 76 for two before bad light took the players off the field.

Their prospects of returning to play quickly were ended by heavy rain throughout the rest of the morning session and prospects of playing again today remain bleak.

Jack Leaning, Yorkshire’s 20-year-old batsman playing only his third championship match, progressed to an unbeaten 35 while captain Andrew Gale was unbeaten on 23 when play was suspended.
