The start of the cricket season is synonymous with the arrival of Wisden and we’ve teamed up with the world’s most famous sports book to celebrate the 2014 edition, published on Thursday April 10.

Yorkshire and England’s Joe Root has been recognised as one of the five cricketers of the year. In in the class of 2014 he joined by England women’s Ashes-winning captain Charlotte Edwards, the Australian pair of Chris Rogers and Ryan Harris and India’s dashing opener, Shikhar Dhawan.

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn is named as Wisden’s Leading Cricketer in the World.
