Here at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, we are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website. The new site launch is just the beginning, with many more updates and bigger things to come.
“We've chosen to have a phased release so we can get the site to you quicker, as we didn’t want fans to miss out on any updates from the Club. Launching the website when the Club is in the off–season also gives us the opportunity to make sure everything is ready for when the season begins next year.” — Danny Reuben, Head of Communications
We found that the proportion of users who were accessing the website were doing so from mobile phones and tablets, and they were perhaps not getting the best experience and content that they should from the old website. With this in mind, the new website has been built to be responsive, which allows it to be easily viewed on any screen. Whether you are accessing the website though your computer, tablet, or phone, you will be able to see all the latest news and team information clearly and easily, making your experience the best it possibly can be.
The new digital strategy means that communication between the Club and the fans is going to be bigger and better than ever. We’ll be introducing some great new areas such as YCCC TV with exclusive video content featuring the stars of the team, as well as extra benefits for members of the Club and improved email communications keeping our fans informed.
There’s a new shop and ticketing system making it easier to purchase tickets online for the start of the new season. The new easy to use system combines the shop and ticketing areas, requiring a single account for each member.
Additionally in the 2014 season, we’ll be launching Match Day Mode. The homepage will transform when a match is being played, delivering up to date statistics and match information, with an overview of the play, live updates, photos and tweets, making our site the place to be if you can’t be at the ground in Headingley.
