A wonderful summer for the Lottery— 8 October 2013
It’s the end of a wonderful season of cricket at Headingley and the Yorkshire Pride Lottery has had a similarly exciting summer.
Many of our Members and supporters will have bought raffle tickets in the Grand 150th Raffle, which was drawn at the 150th Gala Dinner on Thursday 3rd October. Thank you to all who donated to the great causes the Lottery supports, the results of the draw can be found here.
The Lottery’s partnered with Martin House Children’s Hospice for the raffle and were able to present a massive £5000 cheque at the Martin House Open Day on 6th October.
Yorkshire President Geoffrey Boycott hand delivered the cheque and many of Yorkshire’s academy players were in attendance at the open day held in the grounds and garden.
The amount raised will purchase a new bed for the hospice and create more space for the families and children to be part of the hospice in a troubled time of their lives. The Club and the Yorkshire Pride Lottery would like to thank all volunteers, Lottery Members and raffle ticket buyers for such a fantastic year.
Join us on 24th October for a quiz night and sausage and mash supper at the Original Oak in Headingley. Lottery member’s can join in for free and guests are more than welcome at £5 per person. From 7:30pm. Contact Jane Ferguson on 0113 2033 640 to register your interest!
