The day to take your place in Yorkshire's history— 23 June 2013
Members and supporters of Yorkshire County Cricket Club who have interesting items of cricketana and memorabilia connected with the Club can take them along to Headingley tomorrow, Sunday, June 23, to have them assessed and valued.
Yorkshire Cricket Foundation Archives Committee are holding an Open Day in the Long Room on the third day of the LV County Championship match with Surrey, and Archives Committee member Brian Sanderson will be on hand to cast an eye over whatever you may bring.
“As long as it is connected directly to Yorkshire we are interested in anything that is of historical interest,” Brian said. “Old books, autographs, letters, photographs, silverware and pottery are just a fraction of the items Yorkshire cricket lovers may have in their possession.
“It may even be that some of them could be ideal for the Yorkshire Museum or to form part of the Archives collection. If there turn out to be items that we do not already have they may be loaned or even sold to us.”
Brian will be in attendance in the East Stand Long Room tomorrow from 9.45 to 11am, during the lunch interval (1-1.40pm) and during the tea break (3.40-4pm).
