The Vikings will have seamer Tim Bresnan available after he missed out on selection for England in the Second Investec Test Match against New Zealand, which commenced today after the first day was rained off at Headingley.
Bresnan will travel with his Yorkshire teammates on Sunday to Radlett and will be hoping to impress England selectors ahead of the International One-Day series, which gets underway next Friday at Lord’s.
“We have had a break from competitive cricket this week,” said Vikings first team coach Jason Gillespie.
“We enjoyed a solid victory over the Unicorns last week at Chesterfield and we have to build on that now. We cannot afford to lose if we want to qualify from this group. From now on in, every match counts and we will have to play some exceptional cricket to progress through to the knockout stages.
“We are pleased to have Bres (Tim Bresnan) available for selection. He just wants to continue bowling well and become an integral part of the England set-up for the rest of this summer.”
Yorkshire have also invited Academy wicketkeeper Eddie Wilson to travel with the first team to gain valuable experience.
“Eddie (Wilson) will be with the first team throughout next week including being part of preparations ahead of Tuesday County Championship match at Somerset,” added Gillespie. “It will give him the chance to immerse himself in the first team, which is invaluable for his cricket development.”
