Yorkshire opening batsman Alex Lees is to run the Leeds Half Marathon, along with his brother Tom and his Grandma Margot.
Here he tells the story why this milestone is important to him and his family.
“I have decided to run the Leeds Half Marathon with my brother, Tom, and my Grandma on Sunday May 12 2013.
“In May 2011, my father, Simon Lees, died of cancer aged 47 at the Halifax Royal Hospital.
“The three of us are donning our running lycra to do the Leeds Half Marathon to raise money for the local Halifax Macmillan Unit in his memory. It provides fantastic support and care to many people and families.
“My Grandma (Margot), who is 72, is running the race with us. She has been in training and she is actually most likely to win – she is amazing!”
Yorkshire fans please dig deep and help Alex and his family raise lots of funds for this fantastic cause.
