Yorkshire Pride Lottery in the 150th year— 4 April 2013
On April 3rd, Yorkshire County Cricket Club held the pre-season Media Day at Headingley Cricket Ground. It was a cold but, thankfully, sunny occasion.
As this is an important year for YCCC, being the 150th Anniversary, the Lottery is recognising this event by holding a season long raffle to be drawn at the Gala Dinner on October 3rd. The weekly lottery draws will also continue as normal.
The two beneficiaries of this raffle will be Martin House Children’s Hospice and a new inhouse screening programme for young Yorkshire bowlers.
Martin House Children’s Hospice joined in with YCCC’s media day and loyal supporter Craig Walter even stopped to by to meet the team. Suffering from muscular dystrophy, Craig is travelling the UK in a charity drive through July 2013. You can find out more information about his incredible journey here. Martin House will be joining the Yorkshire Pride Lottery in fundraising throughout the season.
Tickets for the 150th commemorative raffle will be available for this once in a lifetime draw after the 150th Anniversay Lunch on April 21st.
The main prize is a staggering £5,000 but there are plenty of other money can’t buy items well worth entering for. Tickets will be sold at £1.50 each.
Anyone joining the Yorkshire Pride Lottery for one year during April will automatically be entered into a special prize draw for a box on day one of the Second Investec Test Match: England v New Zealand held at Headingley on 24th May 2013. The box will be for 10 people, no hospitality is included but the opportunity to enjoy a special day out is second to none.
