The Club is delighted to annouce that it will once again be supporting the over 50s ‘Grey Fox Trophy’.
Now in its 3rd year the GFT has proved incredibly popular with wily veteran cricketers from all over Yorkshire. The mighty Bradford Bhuddays swept all before them again last year and will be striving to make it a hat-trick of wins this season.
As in previous years the final will takes place at Headingley. The auspicious date set aside for 2013’s climactic clash of the Sanatogen-guzzling titans is Friday September 13th so get it in your diaries now!
We welcome entries from all qualifying teams and always strive to find teams for those players keen to participate who aren’t affiliated to a specific club or league.
Entry costs £25 per team and that money goes to the ‘Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’. The application form itself can be downloaded at the left hand side of this page under ‘Related Content’.
Believe it or not the GFT nets sessions have already begun in the Yorkshire Cricket Centre on St. Michael’s Lane. Some battle-hardened campaigners simply couldn’t wait any longer to feel leather on willow! The remaining dates are as follows:
February 24th: 1pm – 2pm
March 3rd: 1pm – 2pm
March 17th: 1pm – 2pm
Any over 50s cricketer is welcome to attend. The fee of £24 will be split equally between all those who turn up. I’m reliably informed that the pack of unruly foxes normally migrates to the Original Oak afterwards for a pint……and maybe a rummage through the bins!
